NSW Regional Health Partners (NSWRHP) – as part of the Australian Health Research Alliance (AHRA) – welcomes the Australian Government’s investment of $12 million to support the nation’s 12 NHMRC accredited Research Translation Centres (RTCs) in driving the integration of evidence-based healthcare to deliver better health outcomes for all Australians, including regional, rural and remote communities.
The funding, provided through the National Health and Medical Research Council’s (NHMRC) 2025-26 Supporting Research Translation Centres grant opportunity, will see NSWRHP receive $1 million from July 2025 for a 2-year period leading to the next accreditation round in 2027.
The grant will be used by NSWRHP to engage Research Translation Coordinators in the Mid North Coast, New England and Western NSW to provide practical research support to local health staff. The grant will also fund research translation and capacity building initiatives and strengthen consumer and community involvement in research translation.
With this funding, NSWRHP, and the other RTCs, will continue to strengthen collaboration between researchers, health services, and communities and drive innovations that deliver equitable, high-quality and evidence-based healthcare, ultimately delivering better health outcomes for all Australians.
